Children and Youth
Children and Youth is one of the Four Pillars the American Legion was founded on in 1919, indicating our dedication to supporting our nation's youth. Many of the programs are described in some detail in the Americanism section, such as Legion Baseball, Junior Shooting Sports, Oratorical Contest, Scouting, Boys State, and JROTC.
Additionally we provide services through the Family Support Network, Temporary Financial Assistance, Child Welfare Foundation, and the Legacy Scholarship Fund.
